Larry Engler began videotaping performing arts events in 1979. His video documentation of the shows Carnival and Godspell at New York's famous Equity Library Theatre are currently available in the archive of the Lincoln Center Performing Arts Library in New York City.

Over the next 25 years Mr. Engler was involved with corporate and commercial video production in New York for clients such as The Prudential Insurance Co., Sony Corp., AT & T, Hershey Chocolate, Johnson & Johnson, MTV, Proctor & Gamble, HBO, Pepsi Cola, and many others.

Moving to Connecticut in 2004, he began taping events for local performing arts organizations such as The Connecticut Concert Opera, The Hartt School, and The New Haven Chorale.

In 2006 Mr. Engler acquired the JD Video Co. of Bristol, CT. from owner Jim Devine. Larry changed the name of the company from JD Video to JSM Video, and immediately started shooting and producing the DVDs required by Mr. Devine's loyal customers.

Two years later, JSM Video's distinguished client roster includes Connecticut Opera, Yale Opera, The Hartt School, University of Hartford, Yale Baroque Opera, St. Joseph College, as well as numerous dance studios, school districts, and community theatre groups throughout the state.
